Dreamscene for vista home premium & bussiness

logoOk for the people that have windows vista home premium and bussiness and would like Dreamscene on their machines i have got my hands on a patched version ;).

I have tested this and it fully works but please note you need to have aero enabled to run dreamscene and also you need a pretty decent graphics card.

Instructions Part1:

1. Click the Start button.

2. Click All Programs.

3. Go into Accessories.

4. Right-click on Command Prompt.

5. Select Run as administrator.

6. When the UAC Prompt appears, click Continue.

Once you have your elevated command prompt, follow these steps:

In this case, i’m taking example of “themecpl.dll” file:

1. At the command prompt, input takeown /f filepath (takeown /f c:\windows\system32\themecpl.dll).

2. Press Enter on the keyboard.

3. A message will be displayed that this completed successfully.

4. Now input icacls filepath /grant yourusername:f (icacls c:\windows\system32\themecpl.dll /grant user:f).

5. A message will be displayed that this completed successfully.

You will now be able to modify or replace the file. Repeat the steps for all the files. When you are done, simply remove the permissions to keep the file secure.

Instructions Part 2:

But you can copy and paste these paths into Windows Explorer, and it will figure it out for you.

1. Copy DreamScene.dll to %windir%\system32

2. Copy DreamScene.dll.mui to %windir%\system32\en-US

3. Rename the file themecpl.dll in %windir%\system32 to themecpl.dll.original

4. Copy this patched version of themecpl.dll to %windir%\system32

5. Rename the file themecpl.dll.mui in %windir%\system32\en-US to themecpl.dll.mui.original

6. Copy this version of themecpl.dll.mui to %windir%\system32\en-US

7. Create a new folder in %windir%\Web named “Windows DreamScene” (without quotes).
This is where you can place your videos, for easy access through the Personalization control panel.

8. Import DreamScene.reg

9. Reboot (or kill explorer.exe and run it again).

Once done right click on the desktop and go to desktop prefs then desktop background then on the drop down list select Video then just browse for the video you want to use.

Happy Valentines Day…..

Well Valentines Day is upon us and we all know half the world thinks it’s a waste of time and o how boring it is to spend so much money and just sit there complaining they havn’t got anyone well get off your asses and get out there and find someone there not going to come through your door lol.
Anyway today is personal time for me 🙂 spend some quality time with my girlfriend and take her out for a romantic meal.

Now from my life and into the tech world, the BBC yet again complained about something on there show Watchdog and this time its about the Xbox 360. I watched the show last night and i was utterly dissgusted with what they said they litterally made out that the 360 was a pile of shit and was a complete waste of time (biased fucking twats they are) well anyway Microsoft strook back in saying they are a few faults and been taken care of case by case but the vast majority of there consumers are very happy with the console. Thanks to Bink.nu and Gameindustries.biz for the news.

In Customization news if you have Windows Vista Ultimate Edition head over to http://dream.wincustomize.com/index.aspx for dreamscene backgrounds apparently microsoft have silently released them soo if there to crappy don’t complain just wait lol.

Now on to my blog i fancy a new a new theme + header so i’m going to do something there. And im going to post some fancy XP Ported things in a couple of weeks.

VistaXP by ~Kol

Remember this from Kol?

Well here’s a short story. Microsoft contacted two time WinCustomize administration regarding of my VistaXP skin. The first time they told them to remove the skin. They romoved it but they put the skin back online because they can’t selectively enforce. In November they contacted WinCustomize and they took the skin down again.
Yestarday I got an e-mail from the people that represent Microsoft in intellectual property matters and they requested me to remove the skin from all the website where it is available.

Sorry everyone but now more updates or download links to VistaXP and please do not redistribute the skin. The question is why only my skin and not all other Vista based themes out there? I know they have the right to take my skin down and I dont ave any problem with it but I think is not fair to take only one skin when there are a lot of other skins using the same resources that I used.

Now Microsoft, Biggest Software Corp in the World, Currently Releasing Windows Vista in 2007 and has terrible history with lawsuits ;).
How long has it been since VistaXP was Banned? how many themes has Microsoft Made since VistaXP was banned? and finally how many themes have been made that look exactly like vista?
Lets Just say a hell of alot, now its come to my attention that People are looking for Vista XP and now Vista is Final lets Bring VistaXP Back:

VistaXP is not illegal in the tech world microsoft was just been a bully and picked Kol out of the hat of People to take down Skins of Microsoft Windows Vista. “There are Plenty of Themes that are totally like Windows Vista Microsoft Go pick on them for once”

I have Setup a folder at my personal host for VistaXP so get them while there hot 😉
